Spare Any Vouchers for the Night Shelter?

To those of you who live in Oxford, how often are you been asked "Can you spare any change for the night shelter?"

And how often do you actually spare any change?

I recently learnt of a voucher scheme which allows you to give a homeless person a donation that can only be used in Oxford Night Shelter.

You can buy books of 10 vouchers for £30. These can be exchanged for a night's accommodation, a hot meal, a shower, use of the laundry facilities and access to resettlement services.

The way I see it, a genuine homeless person will benefit from a voucher and if a fraudster ends up throwing one in the bin, your £3 will have reached Oxford Night Shelter anyway, and be put to good use.
