The Best Triple Chocolate Brownie Recipe Ever

I don't usually post recipes - there are dedicated websites for that - but I didn't want you to miss out on what could be the tastiest thing you eat this century. Below is a recipe I originally stole from the BBC and adapted to make even better.

Ingredients

170g plain chocolate (70% cocoa solids)

275g/10oz unsalted butter

85g/3oz pecans or walnuts, broken into pieces

100g milk chocolate, cut into large chunks

100g white chocolate, cut into large chunks

175g/6oz self-raising flour

1/2 tsp baking powder (2 parts cream of tartar to 1 part bicarbonate of soda)

4 large eggs, lightly beaten

1 tsp vanilla essence

325g/12oz golden caster sugar

Method

1. Preheat the oven to 170C/325F/Gas3.

2. Grease and flour a 8" square cake tin.

3. Put the plain chocolate and butter in a large bowl, place over a pan of simmering water and allow to melt.

4. Sieve the flour and baking powder into a bowl and set aside.

5. Remove the melted chocolate from the heat and stir in the sugar.

6. Add the eggs and vanilla essence.

7. Fold in the flour, nuts and chocolate.

8. Pour the chocolate mixture into the prepared cake tin.

9. Place in the oven and bake for 35-50 minutes. The top should be firm but the inside should feel soft when cooked.

10. Allow to cool in the tin.

11. Remove the brownies from the tin and cut into squares.
