Satisfying Sitcom Endings

Something that irritates me a lot more than it perhaps should, is television series ceasing production without a satisfactory conclusion, for example when Steven Moffat buggered off to write Doctor Who even though the final series of Coupling ended on a cliff hanger. Similarly makers of Green Wing rounded off their two season run with a ninety minute special that left me feeling agitated and depressed.

Fortunately, in the two examples described above, I have been able to appease my discontent, to some extent, by finding an extended ending and a post show story by the writer. I provide links to the above for anyone who like me, is incapable of detaching themselves from the lives of fictional sitcom characters.
