Five steps to travelling Oxford High Street

As means of demonstrating that Google maps suggest you swim the Atlantic Ocean in order to reach America from the UK, my brother got me to request a route from Oxford to Hollywood. However what amuses me even more than the suggestion that 3,462 miles is swimmable (in a car), is the route Google suggests you drive from Carfax to the bottom of the High Street:

1. Head east on High St toward Turl St - 243 ft

2. Turn right at King Edward St - 262 ft

3. King Edward St turns slightly left and becomes Oriel Square - 269 ft

4. Oriel Square turns left and becomes Merton St - 0.2 miles (1 min)

5. Turn right at High St - 0.1 miles

I know Oxford High Street can be a nightmare at times but is it really best to turn down a narrow street into a cobbled area just to return to the High Street moments later?
