Challenge Shanika - Red Rock Swim

Challenge Shanika

I've decided to set myself a personal challenge, to swim from Dawlish Town to Red Rock. It's only about 2K but I'm a very slow and inefficient swimmer so I imagine it will take me in the region of 90 minutes and be quite tiring. I've swum further in a pool but that's flat.

Obviously I'll have to wait for the sea to warm up - I put my toes in today and it was agonisingly cold. It felt like each individual toe was in a vice being gradually tightened - and this is coming from someone who was still swimming in the sea in October. I have never felt the sea this cold in my life. Apparently the English Channel is 5 degrees at the moment and survival time is 5 minutes, which even with the greatest of optimism, is not enough time to do the Red Rock Swim!
